At GS Therapeutica Massage, we know that taking care of your well-being should feel easy, not stressful or complicated. That’s why we proudly offer direct billing for massage therapy and related services to many major insurance companies here in Calgary and across Alberta.

What Is Direct Billing?

Direct billing means we submit your claim directly to your insurance provider, so you don’t have to pay the full cost upfront and wait for reimbursement. We handle the paperwork for you saving you time and putting money back in your pocket sooner.

When you come for your massage, we’ll confirm your coverage, submit your claim electronically, and let you know if there’s any remaining balance (such as a co-pay or amount not covered by your plan). You only pay that uncovered portion at your appointment.

Important Things to Know

  • Plan Requirements - Some benefit plans require a doctor’s prescription or referral for massage therapy to be covered. Please check with your insurance provider or HR department in advance to avoid surprises.

  • Coverage Limits - Most plans have annual limits for massage services, and may only cover up to a certain hourly rate (called a “reasonable & customary rate”). If your session goes beyond that amount, you’ll simply pay the difference.

  • One Insurer at a Time - We can only direct bill to one insurance company per visit. If you have secondary coverage, we’ll provide you with an official receipt to submit the remaining balance yourself.

  • When Direct Billing Isn’t Available - Occasionally, insurance systems go offline or a claim may be rejected due to plan limits or missing documents. If that happens, we’ll ask you to pay for your treatment upfront, then give you a receipt to submit to your insurer for reimbursement.

  • A doctor’s note, if your plan requires one

  • Any forms your insurer or our clinic needs you to complete
